Did you know?
The word ginkgo means "silver apricot." |

Referred to as a living fossil, the ginkgo
biloba tree was flourishing when dinosaurs roamed
the earth. In Japan, temples and shrines are
often beautified with ginkgos, many of which
are believed to be more than 1,000 years old.
How do these astounding trees attain such longevity?
They are resistant to pests, diseases, and pollution.
Ginkgos can even thrive in inner cities, where
other trees often fail.
This amazing survivor has also been used for
thousands of years in Chinese medicine; the
nuts are believed to treat respiratory ailments.
More
recently, it has been studied to determine its
potentially beneficial effects on age-related
memory decline. At DHC, we use it to fortify,
condition, and soothe the skin. You'll find
ginkgo biloba leaf extract in After Shave Lotion
[Men]*, along with aloe and chamomile, to provide
some TLC for complexions that have been roughed
up by shaving.
