Celine Li, an anchor with a Chinese news station in the New York City borough of Queens, discovered DHC while growing up in China. Just a typical day
When I was a reporter, I covered local news in Queens, mostly events important to the Chinese community. As an anchor/editor, I cover U.S. domestic news, including politics, economy, education, health, culture, social issues, and more.

Best story
It aired on NBC’s Nightly News on the evening of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The story was about Chinese numerology. The opening ceremony was set on 8/8/2008 because 8 is a lucky number in the Chinese culture. Many weddings were arranged on that day, and believe it or not, many parents tried to deliver their babies on that day. In the story we produced, we filmed a wedding, visited the marriage registration office, shot in a hospital delivery room, and interviewed a fortune teller. It took months to research and then set up the shots.

Interests and hobbies
I like to draw and sing. I record songs with my husband in our home studio. He’s a wonderful musician.

Make sure to take off all your makeup completely, eat healthy, sleep well and, most importantly, be happy.

On feeling beautiful in your own skin
First, accept who you are. Second, be clear about your own definition of beauty. Third, be confident. Also, know that there is more to life than external looks.

So far, I’ll have to say The Kite Runner. Very rarely do you run into such devastating beauty from reading a book.

Do you have any pets?
Two cats. They are brother and sister, but look completely different: One is white and orange, and the other is black with grey stripes. The boy is a total daredevil, while the girl is gorgeous, high-maintenance and the queen of the house.

Why is taking care of your skin important to you?
It gives a woman tremendous confidence when she knows that she is beautiful not because of the makeup, but because of her natural self.
