Website use issues

If you are having trouble viewing the DHC site, or if the items you place in your shopping bag seem to disappear, please read this section carefully.

Basic Browser Requirements
Our site works best with Netscape Navigator 6.x or above, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or above, AOL Explorer 6.x or above, Safari RSS 1.x or above, or Mozilla Firefox 1.x or above. Some features may not work properly if you are using a different browser and checkout will not be possible. You may download the latest browser versions by following the links below.


A cookie is a file stored on your computer by a website to give you a unique ID. A cookie generated by contains only a numeric ID that allows you to retrieve certain information on our site. For example, while on our site if you leave your shopping basket to look for other items, the cookie allows for the storage of the selected items in the basket. Cookies help us provide you with the information you need and make it easier for you to use our site. To set your browser to accept cookies, look under "Preferences" or "Options" in your browser.

Browser privacy and security issues
If your browser's security settings are set to a "high" level, items may not stay in your shopping bag as you shop. In order to change your settings follow these directions:

Settings for Internet Explorer 6.x

  • Select "Tools | Internet Options..." from the tool bar on the browser.
  • Select the "Privacy" tab.
  • Adjust the privacy slider control on the left to no higher than the "medium" setting.
  • Click the "Advanced" button.
  • On the Advanced screen, click the checkbox to "Override automatic cookie handling"
  • Next, click the radio button to "Accept 1st party cookies," then click the checkbox to "Always allow session cookie."
  • Click "OK."

Settings for Netscape Communicator 6.x

  • Select "Edit | Preferences..." from the main menu.
  • Click on the plus (+) to the left of "Advanced."
  • Click on "Cookies" from the list of options beneath "Advanced."
  • On the right, select "enable all cookies."
  • Next, select "Cache" under "Advanced" menu.
  • Under "Compare the page in the cache to the page on network:," select the option "Every time I view the page."
  • Click "OK" to accept these changes, then try again.

America Online Version 7.0

  • Select "My AOL" from the tool bar.
  • Select "Preferences" from the menu.
  • Click the "Internet Properties (WWW)" link.
  • Select the "General" tab.
  • Click on the "Settings" button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section.
  • Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages:," select "Every visit to the page." Click "OK."
  • Select the "Privacy" tab.
  • Click "Advanced" button in the "Custom Levels" section.
  • Check the "Override automatic cookie handling" box.
  • Select "Accept" for "First Party Cookies."
  • Select "Accept" for "Third Party Cookies."
  • Check "Always allow session cookies."
  • Click "OK."
  • Click "OK."

Hotmail users:
When clicking on a link in a DHC email from your Hotmail account, the new browser window that opens will have a Hotmail "frame" around it. This frame may prevent items you have selected from staying in your shopping bag. To prevent this, please open a new browser window and type in the address bar to go directly to our site and complete your shopping experience.
